I think the "back door" can mean many different things to different people. The thief at your door may be the movies you watch, the tv shows you watch, the off color
jokes you snicker at when another tells them, or the good things you do that keep you so busy that it steals time away from your family. Perhaps it is all of the junk food that you eat, that steals good health from your body. For me it is not the election, but so many other things that I allow in to keep me from being the person
God would have me to be.

Well said - I needed to read that today.

Dude. I think you're on to something. It's so easy-- especially in our media saturated, enblogerated culture-- to get sucked in to the political and religious hype and, well, distracted from centeredness in Jesus and focus on the kingdom. "Make the Kingdom of God your primary concern" (Matt. 6:33). Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Where do I sign up?
Good thoughts... they always are.

The Bible is laced with stories of good people being distracted/losing focus. Culture tends to be a culprit.
