Well, the time has come for me to say goodbye to Indiana, a place I have lived for nearly 34 years. By this time next week, I will officially live in South Carolina, and by this time next month, I will be part of a whole family again, thanks to the amazing power of the Lord.
If you are surprised, I apologize. It's been hard to keep everyone up to date with the whirlwind of what has been going on in my life. Read back on the history of this blog, and you should be able to fill in most of the blanks.
With this being my last week as a resident of Anderson, Indiana, you can imagine I have been pondering lots of things. I thought I would write some of them down in random order...
- I've never move any further than 2 miles before. This move will be about 600.
- I've lost a lot in the past year or more - a wife, a house, good credit (well, it wasn't that great to begin with).
- I've gained a lot more than I have lost - a Wife whose picture can be found next to Proverbs 31, another blonde son, a much better house than I ever had before, better weather, excellent schools for the kids, and a couple new cats.
- I've been trying to hit the eating places I will miss when I leave. Frasier's Gourmet Supply, Eva's, Culver's, The Claddagh. Still on the list - Golden House, Flashback, Frazier's Ice Cream. Not on the list: La Cucaracha (never did see what people liked about that place).
- Last July, my church threw me a "stock up shower" to help me with things I needed to keep a house of five people running on my own. Since that date, I have not had to buy flour, sugar, salt, paper, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, paper towels, and - most importantly - toilet paper. I have two rolls left to last me the next 5 days. I smile every time I think about all the toilet paper.
i'm really excited for you. it makes me happy to read your blog these days.
